End of Restriction Sign

Shape: Circular (octagonal for Stop, inverted triangle for Give Way)  ·  Colour: White with red border (prohibitory); blue with white symbol (positive mandatory, e.g. compulsory turn, keep left)

The restriction in effect (speed limit, no overtaking, etc.) from the previous sign is now cancelled.

What It Means

The End of Restriction sign (a circle with a diagonal grey/black bar) marks the point where a previously imposed restriction — such as a speed limit or no-overtaking zone — ends. After this sign, vehicles may return to the normal road-applicable speed limit or resume overtaking as permitted. Note: it does not mean "drive as fast as you like" — the default speed limits for the road type still apply.

📍 Where You'll See It

At the end of construction zones, school zones, no-overtaking stretches, and temporary speed restriction areas.

What You Must Do

You may resume normal permitted speeds and manoeuvres. Do not treat this as an invitation to speed — the general road speed limit still applies.

⚠️ Common Mistake

Accelerating sharply after this sign. The national default limits (50 km/h city, 100 km/h highway for LMV) still apply unless a new limit is posted.

⚖️ Legal Note

No violation for the sign itself, but overspeeding after it still attracts Sec. 183 penalties.
