Questions
Does SignalPe send my report to the traffic police?+
No. SignalPe is an independent citizen platform, not a government portal, and no challan is issued from a report here. For an official complaint, use your state traffic police app or portal — our guide on how to report a traffic violation lists them.
Do I need to sign in?+
No. Reports are anonymous: we do not ask for your name, phone number or email. Signing in with Google is optional; if you do, your reports are saved under My account so you can follow their review, and they stay anonymous to the public and to moderators. To stop spam we run an automated bot check and limit each network to 10 reports per hour.
Can I upload a photo from my gallery?+
No. The form opens your phone camera and only accepts a photo or a video of up to 60 seconds captured right then, tagged with your GPS location at the time of capture. It is uploaded at full original quality.
What happens after I submit a report?+
Every report is reviewed by a person before it is published. Only approved reports, with a confirmed vehicle number, appear when someone looks that vehicle up on the Check Violation page. Unclear or doubtful reports are rejected and their photo or video is deleted.
Do I have to enter the vehicle number?+
It is optional, but it speeds up review. If you leave it blank, the reviewer reads the plate from your photo or video; if the plate is not readable, the report cannot be published.
