How to Get NOC for Vehicle (Interstate Transfer)

A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required when you permanently move your vehicle from one state to another. The NOC is issued by the originating state's RTO.

Step-by-Step Process

Apply at Your Current RTO

Visit the RTO where your vehicle is currently registered, or apply online via parivahan.gov.in.

Submit Form 28

Fill Form 28 (Application for NOC) with vehicle details and the reason for transfer.

Submit Documents

Submit: original RC, valid insurance, PUC, address proof of new state, tax clearance certificate, and challan clearance.

Pay Any Pending Dues

Clear all pending road tax, challans, and fees.

RTO Issues NOC

The RTO issues an NOC valid for 6 months. They also send a copy to the destination state's RTO.

Re-Register in New State

Within the 6-month NOC validity, apply for re-registration at the new state's RTO with the NOC, RC, and new address proof.
