Go to vahan.parivahan.gov.in. Click "Know Your Vehicle Details." Enter the vehicle registration number and captcha.

You can see: owner name, vehicle class, fuel type, registration date, registration validity, insurance status and expiry, fitness certificate status (for transport vehicles), and hypothecation details (if vehicle is on loan).
