Cautionary Signs

T-Intersection Ahead (Right) Sign

Shape: Equilateral triangle (pointing up)  ·  Colour: Yellow/white with red border

The road ahead ends at a T-junction — you must turn left or right.

What It Means

This sign warns that the road you are on terminates at a T-junction ahead where roads branch to the right (and left). The road you are approaching on (the "stem" of the T) does not continue — you must turn. T-junctions on high-speed rural roads are particularly dangerous because drivers on the main road may not anticipate vehicles stopping or turning from the stem road.

📍 Where You'll See It

On roads approaching T-junctions, typically 150–300 metres before the junction.

What You Must Do

Reduce speed. Prepare to turn left or right as appropriate. Do not enter the junction at speed expecting to make a late decision.

⚠️ Common Mistake

Approaching a T-junction at highway speed expecting a continuation of the road — particularly dangerous at night.

⚖️ Legal Note

Failing to stop at a T-junction: Sec. 119 / 177 MV Act. If it caused a collision: Sec. 184.
